The International Network of National Terroir Product Competitions (hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us") attaches particular importance to the protection of the personal data of visitors to its website, of potential producers and of its member countries. In this respect, we undertake to maintain the confidentiality of the data collected and to process your personal data in accordance with the various legislation in force. We also comply with the requirements of the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (ADP) and the Ordinance relating to the Federal Data Protection Act (FADP). This policy describes the type of personal data we collect and how it is processed. It is effective from 20.10.2023 and replaces all previous documents. 

 

What personal data is collected? 

  • We may collect information about your visits to our site, including but not limited to traffic data, location data, the content of surveys and contact forms and other communication and resource data to which you have access.
  • If you contact us, we may retain a copy of that correspondence.
  • We also collect information in aggregate form about all users of the site. This allows us to gain a better understanding of the users of the site as a group, without containing any personally identifiable information.
  • We may also use the information for direct marketing activities via e-mail, message and telephone. However, you may opt out of receiving future marketing communications from us at any time.

Who is responsible for controlling the data collected?
 

The data controller is the international network, Fondation Rurale Interjurassienne (FRI), Courtemelon, CP 65, 2852 Courtételle.

The international network is a tool developed by FRI-UNIDO to promote terroir products at the international level. The FRI is a foundation under private law, registered in the Commercial Register of the Republic and Canton of Jura (IDE no. CHE-112.152.568), with a second site in Loveresse (BE). Its purpose is to provide training, advisory and consultancy services in the fields of agriculture, management, and rural development in general.

 

Who has access to the data? 

In the context of our services, the website, our legal obligations, the protection of our legitimate interests and other purposes related to our services, we may communicate your personal data to third parties, in particular to the following categories of recipients:

  • To suppliers, service providers and agents: occasionally, we may engage or mandate other companies or individuals to provide content and perform services on our behalf. This includes, for example, the hosting of site content and the provision of certain site content.
  • Other persons: for example, the media and organizations in which we participate, or if you appear in one of our publications.

All these categories of recipients may involve third parties, so your data may also be communicated to them.

 

How long is my data kept?

 Any personal data that we process is kept for no longer than is necessary to achieve the purpose specified for its processing.

Data resulting from browsing our site is retained.

We use technical and organisational security measures that we consider adequate to protect your data against manipulation, partial or total loss and unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are constantly adapted in line with technological developments.

We also take our own internal data protection very seriously. Our employees and the service providers we appoint are bound by confidentiality and compliance with data protection legislation.

Which legislation applies? 

As a foundation under private law based in Switzerland and providing services on Swiss territory only, the FRI is subject to the Federal Data Protection Act (LPD) of 25.09.2020 and the Data Protection Ordinance (OPDo) of 31.08.2022.
